Julia Mainwaring

Mainwaring joined head coach and fellow Elon grad Emily Gann’s staff for the 2016-17 Guilford volleyball season.

A magna cum laude sport and event management major in the class of 2016, Mainwaring coached for four seasons at Triangle Volleyball Club in Morrisville, North Carolina. Her duties included youth development, instruction, and training exercises, as well as player and team assessments. Prior to joining Triangle, she served as a volunteer coach at the Chapel-Hill Carrboro YMCA, where she helped develop the youth development program to teach children ages 6-13. She assisted in the creation and execution of weekly practice plans, as well as handling all communication within the program.

Mainwaring was a varsity letter winner in her freshman year at William Peace University, where she served as a defensive specialist. She then spent three years at Elon, where she was active in a variety of on-campus positions. She was a member of the club volleyball program for three seasons, as well as the club’s vice president her senior year. Mainwaring enjoyed a strong prep career at East Chapel Hill High School, where she was a four-year varsity letter winner, a three-year starter, and a two-time all-conference selection.
